Looking to earn your CGMP designation? Arrive in Huntsville a few days early to take the class and exam.

The Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) designation is designed for planners and suppliers whose work is governed by the rules and regulations of the government. The class will take place September 18-21, 2021, and is $595. Meals are not included in the registration price. After three full days of classroom instruction (evening group study sessions are recommended), the exam is taken on the fourth day. Separate registration is required.

Individuals who have earned their CGMP have obtained the highest designation available that is specifically for government meeting professionals. The CGMP is recognized within the hospitality industry; many government contracts require planners working on the contract to have their CGMP certification. In addition to demonstrating your commitment to enhancing your government expertise and to improving the quality of your meetings, earning your CGMP has numerous benefits for your career and for your employer.

In order to take the CGMP Class and exam, you must be a current member of SGMP.

Cancellation Policy

Should the hybrid 2021 NEC be changed to a virtual-only 2021 NEC, the in-person CGMP Course & Exam will not be held. Those who register for the in-person course will be offered an alternative virtual course or another in-person course, but must use their registration fee credit no later than September 30, 2022. Failure to take the course & exam within that period will forfeit their registration fee.
