Apply today to speak during an educational breakout session during the annual SGMP National Education Conference to be held in Bloomington, Minnesota, June 6-8, 2023. All educational sessions will take place on June 7 and 8 at the Radisson Blu Mall of America, and selected sessions may be repeated.
Government Meeting-Related Topics
We are looking for a variety of topics that pertain to government meetings so we can provide the best education possible to all our members. For inspiration, view our core competencies, which include the following nine subject areas:
- education and programming,
- ethics,
- facilities and services,
- financial and contract management,
- logistics,
- personal and professional development,
- protocol,
- technology, and
- federal, state and local travel.
Prospective speakers can also review descriptions of the educational breakout sessions from the 2022 conference.
How to Be Considered for a Keynote
SGMP does not issue a public call for keynotes. Rather, keynote speakers are selected from previous breakout speakers and from recommendations from the National Board. There are three keynote positions. One keynote must work directly in the hospitality or government industry, and the second keynote can be motivational, humorous, etc. The third keynote is our Wednesday luncheon speaker. If you are interested in speaking to SGMP government meeting planners and government suppliers, the best way to get your foot in the door is by applying to speak at an educational breakout session.
SGMP’s Gilmer Institute of Learning Trustees coordinates the speakers for SGMP’s National Education Conference.
Submit a Speaking Proposal
Please complete and submit an application no later than Monday, July 25, 2022, at 5 pm EDT. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Education & Training Director Garland Preddy at education@sgmp.org.
